Dance Holidays at The Wessex – Street, Somerset
The air conditioned ballroom, with a dedicated floor area of some 67ft by 34ft, is rated the very best on which our guests have danced, and it is true to say that they return many times for the delight and pleasure of dancing on this floor. For this reason we host many of our optional tuition weekends at this venue.
Food and Restaurant
Having enjoyed some 12 holidays a year at this venue since 2008 Carole and I can confirm that the restaurant and the meals were rated highly by 95% of our guests. The restaurant ambience is very comfortable, with hot breakfast and our evening meals served at the tables.
Rooms and Public Areas
Bedrooms have been recently refurbished, with a high standard of bathroom. The rooms are rated as ‘very good’ by 75% of our visitors and ‘good’ by the remainder. The layout of the hotel means you pass through the Reception, with the Bar to your right and the Restaurant to your left.
The owners, manager and staff at the hotel (a sister hotel to the Durrant House Hotel) continue to raise the standards in every area of its service, housekeeping and food, and Carole and I are entirely satisified that all new visitors will thoroughly enjoy their stay.
Always enjoy the dancing on your breaks
Just wanted to drop a line to thank you for our dance weekend at Street. We know this is hard work for you both and didn't want you to think it wasn't appreciated. We know The Wessex is not a top dollar hotel but then we don't pay top dollar prices and it gives us a bed to sleep in and food to eat which we have always found adequate for our needs. The one thing it has that is really good is the dance floor which on its own is of no use without good music to dance to and you give us this. We hope to see you again in the not too distant future. Thanks again to you both for a great weekend (next time can you order better weather). Joyce and John 2018
Tuition was excellent, friendly and very informative. Especially being able to record it! The evening dances were fabulously filled with excellent music from beginning to end. Thank you
Another high-value and low cost weekend from Paul and Carol at Dancebreaks. The floor at Wessex was magnificent and the music unrelentingly good. We saw some old friends and enjoyed meeting new people. The hotel is slowly getting better at what it does and the staff are very good. Joseph and Rachel 2016
Thank you so much for making our New Year so special, we enjoyed every minute, company, food, dancing, all superb, already looking forward to next New Year’s Eve. All good wishes.
We have just returned from our weekend with you at the Wessex Hotel in Street. We want you both to know how much we enjoyed ourselves. The tuition we received from Ryan and Olessia was pertinent, well explained and conveyed. I heard the same sentiments expressed by a former school teacher who was present this weekend too! We also enjoyed the food and the company and as always the wonderful music. The selection played on Saturday night was particularly inspiring. Thank you both for a lovely break and we look forward to seeing you in February for our next break.
