We have just completed our 26nd dance holiday ( over 6 years) at the Heronston Spa Hotel, Ogmore by the Sea, nr Bridgend, South Wales.
The entire hotel has been refurbished over the last two years and to say this is a superior 3 star is probably an understatement!? This is a fine modern low-level hotel with ample parking (currently no parking charges) and the public areas are contemporary and chic.
The function room has an intimate floor entirely suitable for 20/25 couples over three nights and has been refurbished with inset decorative wall lighting that is pattern matched to the pattern in the carpet!? The lighting can be adjusted to a perfect dancing ambience, so presents a wonderful venue for evening dancing, but is light and airy during the day for tuition. The room is also air conditioned, and the bar is just outside the entrance doors.
The restaurant is also modern/trendy, spacious, light and airy, and we often enjoy sole group dining in the nearby Heron Room where they still use fine tablecloths. Dinner service by very smart uniformed staff was seamless, efficient …and breakfast is self-service buffet. The food, both dinner and breakfast were of a high-quality standard and feedback from guests was exceptional.
The refurbished rooms and elegant bathrooms really are of exemplary standard and are therefore very comfortable, relaxing with quality beds and bed linen.
The bonus for this hotel is a lovely Spa and is included in our holiday package, but you may need to book as Spa breaks are very popular at this venue…..
Carole and I can highly recommend this hotel as a very comfortable superior hotel with excellent facilities throughout… just perfect for a brief dancing break….!
