The Durrant House Hotel continues to be the best hotel in our current offering. The rooms, ballroom, food and service, have been praised by all our guests as exemplary, and Carole and I continue to recommend this hotel without reservation.
Durrant Ballroom
Our largest dance floor at nearly 90ft, this beautiful laminate ballroom floor is much loved by dancers and Vincent of Vincent and Flavia fame mentioned it was one of the best he had danced on.
Rooms and Public Areas
The rooms are of contemporary décor, with a good standard of furnishings and some bathrooms have marble walls and glass sinks making them luxurious in appearance. Dancers, our room allocation includes all premium rooms followed by standard rooms (3 star quality). These rooms are allocated to our dancers in priority booking order.
The public areas have a colonial feel with dark wood, etched glass and marble floors and the ballroom is stunning.
Food and Restaurant
The restaurant, with etched glass and mahogany panels, is extremely comfortable, and has a warm and homely ambience. The food and service, and attention to every detail, was noted by our clients to be of a very high standard and therefore represented wonderful value for money.
R&R Spa
R&R is a world apart, a luxury North Devon haven where you can enjoy a range of gentle therapeutic treatments including nail extensions, pamper days and pedicures that will leave you feeling Refreshed, Revitalised, Rejuvenated, Restored, and above all Relaxed – and ready to get back on top of your job and busy family life.

As always, we know what to expect from your excellent company and it didn’t disappoint. Tuition very helpful and expertly delivered by both.
Our fourth dance festival – and the technique workshops remind us how it should be done! We go home with renewed enthusiasm.
Mr Robbins
First tuition holiday we have experienced. 2 different but very passionate dance teaching couples. Very many ideas on improvements which we will definitely work on.
Thank you for a lovely weekend of dance and tuition. Passionate teachers giving a few ideas in each dance which can improve our techniques. A packed schedule with self induced tiredness from so much dancing and fun socialising with many friendly fun couples to share time with. Having come home now comes the practicing to make us lucky dancers!
Keith Watkins
Always a good dancing experience with Paul & Carole. Lovely variety of dance genres and music.

: As first time guests and not the best dancers, we were made to feel very welcome and encouraged by hosts and fellow guests. Lucky to be randomly seated for dinners with the nicest people with whom we hope we will join on future occasions. This holiday experience has been fantastic. Thank you Paul, Carol and team.

Bideford is an attractive town on the banks of the Torridge estuary. Following the building of a new bridge in the late 1980’s it is not so busy with the traffic heading into North Cornwall able to bypass the town on the
A39. The old road has a lovely famous bridge crossing the Torridge linking the town of Bideford to its aptly named neighbour “East the Water”.
This area of North Devon was home to Author Charles Kingsley, and where he based his novel Westward Ho! Since that novel was published the town of Westward Ho! has grown and was in fact-named after the book!
Appledore, Instow and Clovelly have their own charm, whilst at Great Torrington, the Dartington Glass Factory has a visitor’s attraction and Factory shop.
