We have many holidays at this venue every year and they always sell out. Its success is due to many factors, not least the relaxing environment, helpful and friendly staff and good food, but there is also much to see and do within an hour’s radius of the venue. Our dancers return year after year to enjoy the hotel, the dancing, and the local sights and beauty that the Wye Valley and Cotswolds have to offer. Always book early for this hotel.
Paddocks Ballroom
The highlight of this hotel is the air conditioned ballroom, which is extensive and comfortable. Recently completely stripped and refurbished this wooden dance floor could accommodate 80-100 dancers with ease. This is a fine, long established dance floor and although not sprung, has a little give allowing you dance for many hours without impacting on your knees.
Rooms and Public Areas
The rooms are simple, and individually and differently decorated with en-suite facilities. Dancers, with only 24 rooms, the majority being twin with a variety of bath/shower combinations, you should speak to our office to ensure your room choice is available.
The beds have been refurbished and are extremely comfortable and the rooms receive a very good or good response from our dancers. The nature of the layout of the hotel means there are limited public areas and only one lounge. The garden area is delightful and when the sun is shining many of our guests spend most afternoons relaxing and chatting whilst enjoying a drink. It truly is a relaxing hotel…
Food and Restaurant
The restaurant which was recently redecorated is simply furnished and comfortable. The food is the nearest you will get to ‘home cooked’ at any hotel… and as a result, receives a ‘very good’ or ‘good’ response by our dancers. The meal times are fixed which means the food is served (even breakfast – 9am) at the same time to everyone and always comes to the table piping hot and delicious. Tea & coffee are served after dinner in the Ballroom.

The Three Choirs Vineyard: This gem of English wine making is a hidden treasure – Enjoy an informal self-guided tour of the Vineyard taking in the magnificent views, and sample the outstanding award-winning English wines.
3 Shires Garden Centre (formerly known as Hazelfields Garden Centre): Beautifully laid out with interesting features around every corner, together with a large pond ‘swimming’ with enormous fish. Special things for the home, conservatory, outdoors, a delicatessen selling all local produce, a carvery, and a local coffee shop.
Ledbury: A lovely character filled English market town known for its black and white architecture. Ledbury has a wealth of charm waiting for you to discover. Make sure you walk up the picturesque cobbled Church Lane, reckoned to be the most frequently photographed street in England and popular with makers of historical films.
Raglan Castle: Located over the Welsh border, approximately sixteen miles west of Ross-on-Wye, Raglan castle was the last castle to be built in Wales and is well worth a visit. Complete your tour of the Castle with a visit to The Beaufort Arms, a 16th Century Coaching Inn where Roundhead soldiers took refreshment during the siege of Raglan Castle in 1646. Situated in the High Street in Raglan Village, this is a delightful place to
partake of coffee or a light lunch.
Broadway Tower: The tower was built in the late 18th century by the Earl of Coventry and is known as “The Highest Little Castle in the Cotswolds” on a clear day it has views over 13 counties. Inside there are exhibitions of the history of the tower and of William Morris who often took holidays here.
Yat Rock: At 500 feet above sea level, Yat Rock lies above the village of Symonds Yat East and West affording spectacular views of the river and surrounding countryside. For bird watchers, Yat Rock is a popular place for sighting the Peregrine Falcon during summer months.
